Preparing for the unprepared

It's 6:00PM on Sunday September 26th 2010 and I'm sitting on my couch waiting to go to another training session. It will be my second last training session before I leave for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi India. As I'm sitting here writing this, I know that there are so many things I need to get done before I leave, and I feel like in the next 48 hours I have well over 100 hours of work to do. I keep thinking about something a wise friend told me about how to make things seem less daunting, try to separate the big picture in to small, manageable pieces. I'm trying this process, and it's very difficult to do, but it is working.

One thing at a time, one thing at a time.

So until Tuesday evening at 6:10PM, I'll most likely be running ragged trying to figure out how to complete assignments, pack, and train for what is going to be the most important event in my archery career to date. I'm incredibly excited, focused, and probably haven't felt this mentally prepared for a tournament in a very long time. Even with all the personal issues and struggles I'm having at the moment, I still enjoy every minute that I get to pick up my bow and shoot. I can't wait to make Canada proud.

I hope that I will be able to update frequently in Delhi. I'm trying out blogging because it was recommended to me, and I hope that in some way this will help to keep me more organized, I'm currently lacking in that department.

So until next time, I'll be frazzled, but enjoying every minute of it.
